Dhiraj Kumar Nath, Urban Health Specialist, Asian Development Bank, Bangladesh
Dhiraj Kumar Nath, is a Bangladeshi diplomat. He was named as an Advisor to the Non-party Caretaker Government of Bangladesh in October 2006 . He was also Secretary to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Mr. Nath passed his entrance from Chaumuhani Madan Mohan High School in 1960. He received his post-graduate degree inx Management from Dhaka University in 1966. He started his career as a professor at Noakhali Government College. He joined the East Pakistan Civil Service in 1969. He was Director General, Department of Family Planning and Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Secretary to the Rural Development and Cooperative Division. He retired from Government service in 2003.He was nominated as Adviser (Cabinet Minister) to the caretaker government in 2006.
He is working at present as Urban Health Specialist of Asian Development Bank. Mr Nath also wrote 14 books like “Bureaucracy in Bangladesh my experience” etc. He is a popular columnist contributing to dailies regularly. He presented papers on different seminars/workshops and acted as Chairperson and moderator. He was Chairperson of the Organising Committee of 12th ICUH held on 24-27 May, 2015 in Bangladesh.
